The ranking takes into account higher education institutions that have the right to confer master degree and have a minimum two years of graduates; 200 enrolled full-time and part-time students responded in the surveys.

PRESTIGE 10%

  • Academic reputation (teaching) (10%)  – a number of indications based on survey conducted among academic staff (full professors as well as PhDs with habilitation, who have obtained their academic titles within the previous four years). In the past years total of 2500 full professors and PhDs with habilitation participated in the survey. The survey did not take into account the votes in favor of the institution being the principal place of employment of the respondent. The survey was conducted in CATI-CAVI method. Universities were divided into three groups: academic HEIs, private universities and state higher vocational s. schools. The survey was completed by Perspektywy Education Foundation.

GRADUATES ON THE LABOR MARKET 25%

  • Employer reputation (10%) - a number of indications resulting from the survey conducted by the company INDICATOR conducted on a representative group of employers following instruction by "Perspektywy". The survey was conducted in 2019 CATI- CAVI method on a group of 1800 companies located in Poland. The results of research conducted in the past three years were taken into account. The survey included 5400 business entities representing all sectors of business in Poland in the past three years.
  • Alumni’s economic situation (15%) – the criterion measured by the indicator of the earnings level of graduates of a given university and the indicators of their employment - following the nationwide survey “Alumni’s Economic Situation” conducted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education with the use of ZUS (Social Insurance Company) data. The indicator takes into account the three survey parameters: earning wages in the county of residence (weight 0.5), work experience (weight 0.25), and the risk of unemployment against the unemployment rate in the county of residence (weight 0.25).

ACADEMIC POTENTIAL 30%

  • Parametric evaluation (8%) – ratio of the sum of research capacity rating of univeristy units carried by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (calculated in the same way as Yi indicator in dotation algorithm). Source: KEJN.
  • Right to confer PhD with habilitation degree (7%)- measured by the sum of rights to confer PhD with habilitation degree on the basis of data from the POL-on (integrated system for higher education).
  • Rights to confer PhD degrees (6%) - measured by the sum of rights to award PhD degrees and the ratio of rights to award such degrees to the total number of master degrees on the basis of data from the POL-on.
  • Academic staff with highest qualifications (4%) - defined as the ratio of the number of professors and PhDs with habilitation to the total number of teaching staff employed by the university. The criterion was measured on the basis of data from the POL-on.
  • Faculty development (3%) - measured by the ratio of academic titles and degrees obtained by university employed staff in 2016 and 2017 (PhD's with habilitation weighted 1.5 and full professors weighted 2.0) in relation to the total number of university academic staff - professors and doctoral degrees employed full-time on the basis of data from the POL-on.
  • Master's degree programs (2%) - counted as the sum of courses of the master's degree, and the ratio of the number of courses of the second and third degree studies to the number of courses of the first degree. Criterion calculated on the basis of POL-on data

TEACHING AND LEARNING 15%

  • Teaching staff (10%) - ratio of the number of academic teaching full-time staff  (PhDs weighted 1.0; PhDs with habilitation weighted 1.5  and professors weighted 2,0) to the total number of students (full-time students weighted 1.0 and external students weighted 0.6). The criterion was calculated on the basis of the POL-on data.
  • Accreditations (5%) - measured by the number of accreditations and international certificates possesed by university and accreditations with a distinction granted by the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA).

INNOVATION 8%

  • EU funding (4%) - value of projects realized as part of the European Union innovation, infrastructure and development programs -  IS, IR, PC, WER, RPO, SBCCP. Data of Ministry of Investment and Economic Development.
  • External funding for research (1%) - measured by the ratio of the total funding obtained for research from outside university (including funding by the State budget) to the total number of academic staff (PhDs weighted 1.0; PhDs with habilitation weighted 1.5  and professors weighted 2.0). The criterion was calculated on the basis of the POL-on data.

INTERNATIONALIZATION 15%

  • Programmes in foreign languages (4%) measured by the number of programmes in foreign languages in the academic year 2018/19The criterion was calculated on the basis of the POL-on data and Perspektywy Education Fundation data.
  • Students studying in foreign language (4%) - measured by the ratio of students studying in a foreign language in academic year 2018/19 to the total number of students. The criterion was calculated on the basis of the POL-on data and Perspektywy Education Fundation data.
  • International students (3%) - measured by the ratio of foreign students to the total number of students. The criterion was calculated on the basis of the POL-on data.
  • Foreign teaching staff (1%) - measured by the ratio of the number of international staff to the total number of full-time teaching staff. The criterion was calculated on the basis of the POL-on data.
  • Student exchange (outbound) 1% - measured by the ratio of students going abroad on an exchange programme for at least one semester in 2018/2019  to the total number of students. The criterion was calculated on the basis of the POL-on data.
  • Student exchange (inbound) 1% - measured by the ratio of students coming to the academic institutions as part of a foreign exchange programme for at least one semester in 2018/19 academic year to the total number of students. The criterion was calculated on the basis of the POL-on data.
  • Multicultural composition of student body (1%) - measured by the number of countries represented by at least 10 foreign students. The criterion was calculated on the basis of the POL-on data.

Presentation of results. As in the previous years, index in the university's rankings was calculated with an accuracy of one-tenth of a percent (one digit after the decimal point). Universities with similar results (differing by no more than 0.5 percent) have been classified on ex aequo positions.

Note: PhD with habilitation is the degree between doctoral degree and full professor title.
